Diane Jemmott founded Cape Jones Consulting in 2005 when she transitioned from a position as executive vice president of a Washington, DC government relations firm. At the firm she managed a team of professionals in client servicing and business development; represented client interests on Capitol Hill and in the District of Columbia and led the firm through organizational change.
Ms. Jemmott has over 25 years of experience providing government and community relations, business development, strategic planning and change management services. She works with large and small, public and private sector clients with issues working with the federal, state and local governments in the Washington, DC area. Ms Jemmott's experience includes projects involving transit, aviation, economic development, land use, ground transportation, funding and governance. In addition to representing clients on Capitol Hill and the District of Columbia, Ms. Jemmott represented a local government before the Virginia legislature for over 8 years and worked for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Experience with all levels of government, lobbying and, executive management expertise combine to create a unique set of skills and abilities. Ms. Jemmott has demonstrated success achieved over years of helping clients.
J. Roderick Burfield has over 25 years of experience in government relations, transportation, budget, finance, capital projects oversight, community and public relations, environmental assessments and labor issues. The ability to synthesize complex program and financial issues among multiple public and private interests to achieve the agreed-upon outcome is a specialty.
Mr Burfield joined Cape Jones Consulting as a Partner in 2007. He has worked on large complex projects across the region including development and expansion of the Metro system; the I-95 Express Lanes project in northern Virginia; Enterprise Resource Planning projects; Project Management; and CIP and EIS oversight and analysis.
Prior to joining Cape Jones, Mr. Burfield was the CIO at a transit agency which included completing a $50 million, 4-year effort to replace and integrate primary business and technology systems for which he received a CIO Top 100 Award and a Computerworld Premier 100 Award. Other positions included Director of Business and Financial Planning, Director of Business Planning and Development, Director of Capital Programming and Oversight, Acting Director of Public Relations and Government Relations Manager.
